I am pleased to tell you that the DVD of Jez Lewis's film Shed Your Tears And Walk Away went on sale today, and it’s been getting some great reviews! Peter Bradshaw has it as one of his top ten documentaries of 2010, Mark Kermode calls it "something special", and Mike McCahill has it as his top DVD rental. It's featured strongly in end of year film round-ups, not just against other documentaries but all film genres (it's even listed beside Toy Story 3 in Alex Beattie's top ten!). Film review aggregator and iTunes official movie meter Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 100% 'Tomatometer' rating.
"Shed Your Tears and Walk Away is a harrowingly honest portrait of young lives wasted in Hebden Bridge, a picturesque northern enclave beset by drugs, alcoholism and tragic self-destruction. It may sound unappetising, but Jez Lewis's documentary is something special – a poetic, powerful and often very painful film made with a raw intimacy that bespeaks harsh truths." Mark Kermode, The Observer

It‘s available through most of the usual outlets and can also be downloaded to rent or buy from iTunes and elsewhere . But probably the best way to buy it is direct from the distributors here.
