West Yorkshire Grants are Now Available for 2009/10

Applications are now being invited from not-for-profit voluntary and community organisations in West Yorkshire who are making a strategic impact on the social or cultural infrastructure of the area.

Eligible groups must be operating in, or benefiting people from, a minimum of three districts including Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield.

There will normally be a minimum grant level of £5,000 for all applicants.

There will normally be a maximum grant level of £10,000 for new applicants although this may be increased in exceptional circumstances.

Grants are awarded for a wide range of activities covering drama, opera, dance, sports and arts activities, advice and welfare, drug and crime reduction, promotion of mental health and wellbeing, projects for people with disabilities, environmental conservation and basic adult education.

Priority will be given to the extent to which organisations address one or more of the following four key priorities, which are aligned to those of the districts' Local Authority Agreements:

  • Safer and stronger communities.
  • Children and young people.
  • Healthier communities and older people.
  • Economic development and the environment.
The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 31 October 2008.
