HEDBEN BRIDGE – OFF THE GRID?

CLIMATE CHAOS KITCHEN presents...

HEDBEN BRIDGE – OFF THE GRID?

SUNDAY 2ND NOVEMBER 2008

Two thirds of CO2 emissions come from the energy sector. Oil and gas supplies are dwindling. Both these problems can be solved by radically cutting our reliance on fossil fuels and bringing generation closer to home.

Making a transition away from fossil fuels requires reducing demand, increasing efficiency and decentralising energy sources. The solutions could be right on our doorstep; the Calder Valley has huge potential energy sources in terms of wind and water. There are a number of ways we can harness these energy sources to start reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. There are already projects starting around the country to create collective, local and sustainable supplies of energy.

The aim of this event is to provide us with the opportunity to hear about possible solutions to the energy crisis, find out about what is already going on in our area and talk about what we would like to do next.
